Rescued from Bondage
Former Drug Addict and Prisoner Studies for Gospel Ministry
For over 12 years, I used drugs and went to prison twice. When I hit rock bottom and lost everything important to me, a former drug addict told me about a church-based, Bible-based rehab program. After I joined the program, I started to read the Bible and attend worship services at the House of Prayer that operated the rehab center. Through hearing testimonies from the other brothers who were there, I realized I was a sinner and repented. I decided that very day to never go back to my former lifestyle.
I was offered a job at the rehab center a month later, and soon afterwards I realized that it was my calling to serve people. I promised God that I would go wherever He would send me. For three years, I participated in forming and launching four rehab centers, coordinated social ministry in my local community, and led small groups along with other church ministries.
I heard a seminary professor say that in order to do the ministry to which God had called me, it would be necessary for me to receive theological education. I decided then to attend Novosibirsk Biblical-Theological Seminary because it seemed a natural next step for me to grow in my spiritual walk with Christ. I am confident that the high quality of education I am receiving now at the seminary will help me greatly to correctly interpret God’s word. May God be glorified!
