Feb 2013 Innercircle Perspective

A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows, is God in His holy habitation.  God makes a home for the lonely . . . Psalm 68:5-6a

In His Word,  many times,  our Heavenly Father expresses His special love and concern for the orphans and the widows. And we have always had a deep concern for both the orphans and the widows. In 2000 when the Lord led us to begin the orphans ministry in cooperation with the Central Baptist Church in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, our original plan included both widows and orphans. We thought we had the perfect plan.  We would support widows who would minister to the orphans. We had no difficulty finding orphans who needed to be loved, but we could not find widows who felt they had strength for the task. Life had been so hard for them that the care of their own families was already too much.

Over the past 12 years, the Lord has blessed this special ministry to grow to 112 orphanages in the countries of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, and Kazakhstan. Today, 76 churches are sending 49 Orphans Reborn coordinators and 213 volunteers. They are regularly reaching and loving nearly 9,000 precious young souls, and nearly 5,000 are faithfully attending their Bible classes. More than 50 orphans who were won to Christ and discipled through Orphans Reborn are now grown up and serving as Orphans Rebornstaff  or volunteers. They visit orphanages and give to little ones what others had given to them.

All of this is made possible by more than 1,200 faithful, generous SGA Orphans Reborn partners from every state in America and 8 foreign countries. As we are early in the new year, it may be an opportunity that other SGA partners may want to consider. The number of orphans that SGA can reach and teach is determined by the level of sponsorship that we receive. As the Lord sends more sponsors, we can reach more orphans. The number of orphans in Russia alone is reported at over 700,000 and we are presently reaching only 5,000 in Russia.   You may want to consider adding the sponsorship of ministry to one orphan to your regular SGA support level.
