A bitter cold wave has been sweeping across Eastern Europe for much of February. Ukraine has been especially hard hit, with at least 151 deaths, and more than 4,000 hospitalized suffering from hypothermia and frostbite. The government had to shut down schools, colleges and nursery schools due to the severe cold.

One Sunday, we were having tea at church when a drunken man named Alexei walked in. He asked who was in charge, so I came up to him and he asked me to come outside and talk. When we got outside, Alexei started to tell me about his problems and hard life, and then suddenly he turned around and told me that he had come to the church to kill me!

We are thankful to the Lord and to SGA partners for His provision of 5,000 Russian-language copies of Dr. John MacArthur's new book, Slave, printed in Minsk, Belarus. Two thousand copies arrived safely at SGA's Kiev RMC in Ukraine, and were distributed at the 20th Anniversary Celebrations of both Irpen Biblical Seminary and the Euro-Asiatic Baptist Federation.

SGA is thankful for the privilege of partnering together with Ken Ham and Answers in Genesis (AIG) to prepare a Russian-language version of AIG’s “Foundations” video series for distribution in the CIS. The 2 DVD set includes sessions such as “Relevance of Genesis,” “In Six Days,” and “Revealing the Unknown God.”

Last August, 14 young brothers and sisters from Minsk's Golgotha Church traveled to the village of Marina Gorka to visit the church. The weather was good, and we were in a joyful mood. The brothers and sisters there gave us a warm welcome before the service.
