It happens each summer across the lands of Russia, but it's never routine. Thousands of children representing all ages look forward eagerly to summer camp ministry. It happens through the support of SGA partners. Many young boys and girls come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and begin attending Sunday school and church services.

After a sudden, brief illness, faithful servant of Christ and beloved SGA team member John Leslie Davis went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 4, 2012, at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, Illinois. John was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his home-going.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Belvidere, Illinois. Pastor Scott Nellis will be officiating. Burial will follow in Belvidere Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Avenue in Belvidere, and 10:30 to service time Tuesday at church.

May the Lord richly bless you, your beloved family, and your precious church family, as together you celebrate God’s wonderful provision that required the horrible suffering of His beloved Son unto death for our sins, and was confirmed by His resurrection from the dead. Because of His glorious Gospel and His amazing grace in our hearts, we can serve Him together for His glory.

It is with great sadness that I must report to you the homegoing of SGA’s John Davis. He went home to be with the Lord last night shortly before 11 p.m. at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, Illinois.

Unruly, troubled children go to camp, the Lord changes their hearts, and they come home eager to obey their parents. Their families are amazed and before long, parents and grandparents are following them to church.
