In St. Petersburg, the faithful Orphans Reborn workers you help sponsor make weekly visits to a juvenile detention center, where the children range from age 12 to their mid-teens. Most are social orphans* who have gotten caught up in a variety of crimes. It’s a bit more than 1,000 miles between Russia’s Tatarstan region and the former Soviet republic of Moldova. But distance or nationality didn’t matter for an excited group of young believers traveling from Moldova to the town of Chistopol in Tatarstan. We have received word from the Russian Union of Evangelical Christians-Baptists (UECB) that their youth are nationally observing an annual day of prayer and fasting this weekend, as we observe Memorial Day here in the U.S. Their purpose is for the spiritual awakening of young generation of Russia. The intent is to motivate all youth and all churches to pray for their personal condition before God, and for the salvation of unbelievers. And for the first time, they are asking us—their North American brothers and sisters—to participate with them. [READ MORE]
