When we awakened in the morning, we decided on an early start. The border was waiting for us and we didn’t know what awaited us there. On May 28, our team of cyclists, and their “Gospel to the Nations of the World” flags, entered the central square of Kobrin for a short stop. Local Christian brothers and sisters offered us some ice cream, while pedestrians looked at the cyclists with curiosity and asked what was going on.

That evening there was a worship service in the Central Kobrin church. All the way from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean, the teams will make stops in different towns through Poland, Germany, Ukraine, Belarus and Russia, taking part in worship services and telling people about the Lord Jesus Christ. After a hot weather Monday filled with worship services and cycling, the night brought needed cool relief. The Kobrin church planned to accommodate us at their children’s camp for the night, but we didn’t arrive there until after midnight. The Larionov music team took part in the first portion of the Gospel Expedition, which began in Germany. We are happy to share this personal word from Yuri and Julia, which we just received . . .

We left Warsaw early Friday morning and God blessed us with good progress. It was still daylight when the Expedition entered the border city of Brest, Belarus. Local Christians invited the members of the Expedition to their homes for the night. Our minibus went straight to Moscow to get equipment, additional bikes, and books.

On Saturday, the cyclists rested and went on an excursion to the Brest kremlin, or fortress. The minibus returned at night bringing equipment and new team members for the Expedition. [Continue reading Passing the Baton in Belarus …]
