Commissioning the Riders

img_1189.jpg“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8).

These exact words from the Holy Scriptures were remembered by everyone today, as we saw off members of the transcontinental bike ride “Gospel to the Nations of the World”. The first team of cyclists, consisting of 9 men together with mission trip leader Leonid V. Kartavenko, set off by car to Germany from Moscow. On May 13, they will begin their journey from the German coastal city of Varel, with a ceremonial start and symbolic filling of a vessel with water from the Atlantic Ocean. From there, the men will mount their bikes and the expedition will begin.

On May 16th, the bike team and the Larionov music quartet will be the guests at a gathering of German churches (Bund Evangelisch – Freikirchlicher Gemeinden in Deutschland) in the city of Kassel. Next, on May 18 and 19, members of the expedition will present several evangelistic concerts in the city of Berlin. On May 21st, we arrive in Poland, and then Belarus and Ukraine. It is good to know that Ukrainian brothers and sisters are ready to join us during our trip in Ukraine.

On the June 6th, an evangelistic service is planned in the city of Bryansk, Russia. Then, a new team will continue the ride and the vessel of water from the Atlantic Ocean will be handed over to these members who will be with the expedition for the next month.

If God allows, supports and guides us, 90 towns and locations in the lands of Russia will again and again hear the call to “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!”

117 evangelistic events. 4 months of travel. And 15,000 kilometers of travel.

May You, O Lord, bless us to tell people about You, and to reach the nations of the world with the Gospel!

We ask you, dear brothers and sisters, to remain diligent in your prayers for the missionaries, for the participating youth and for the expedition.

Let us fulfill the Great Commission!
