Rest, Fellowship and Witnessing

may23.jpgToday is Wednesday. But this is like “Saturday” for us, a day of rest, which God granted us. A prayer service is planned for 6 p.m. We have time to rest, to wash things, to read the Bible and pray. We had a short, quick and late breakfast. After lunch we all decided to see Warsaw. Our Ukrainian-Polish pastor, Ivan, gave us booklets in Polish with the church address. We gave out booklets to passersby on our way into the city and looked at beautiful Warsaw.

Unfortunately I was not able to be with the others on the sightseeing tour as I was expecting brother Vasily to discuss a proposed TV appearance about the Expedition. I came back to the church. Vasily was already waiting for me. “I brought you a snack,” he said while opening the trunk of his car. The “little snack” occupied the bulk of the trunk! He brought fruit and vegetables which we could not afford because we were trying to save our funds. But God cared for us. More than that, he ordered pizza for lunch, and when the team came back from the tour around Warsaw, God’s people gladly partook of the gifts of the Polish land.

The worship service began as scheduled in the Warsaw Central Baptist Church. It was a prayer service, and we had wonderful fellowship. We did not have musicians with us at the moment, but we sang hymns well-known all over the world. God gave us a good interpreter, brother David, who was born in Poland. His father is from Brest, Belarus, and speaks Russian at home. That is why David knows two languages perfectly. After the service, all who understood Russian had tea with us in our room. We quickly put our room in order, stowing away our sleeping bags. We put on the table the food which Vasily brought us. While talking we did not notice how quickly the food vanished, but our souls were filled with the grace of God. The table was empty but fellowship did not stop. Afterward, our cyclists went out together with local youth into the city to witness. May God bless them!
