Reaching Russian Youth in Kazan
Every day we visit a new republic within the Russian Federation. The team covered 160 km today and arrived at Kazan, the 1,000-year-old capital city of Tatarstan. The Pastor of Nazareth UECB Church met us, as well as a crew from the TV channel STS. After an interview, we invited them to the church worship service where they readily came and were pleasantly surprised. Other cyclists, whom we had met during the day, also came to the church. After the service they showed us their bike riding skills. Before the worship service, we had a meeting with local BEE correspondence students from the Bryansk region.
A local church’s praise and worship team participated in the worship service. Video clips from the Jesus Film were presented, and it created a special mood in the meeting. During the sermon, most teenagers tried to show their indifference by talking. But they remained in the hall till the end. Some teenagers listened very attentively and with visible interest to Sergei Sipko’s preaching.
A Bicycle Competition
At the end of the service, some of the kids showed their riding skills on bikes in the church yard. Then the winners were announced and all participants received prizes — Christian books. T-shirts and commemorative badges about the Expedition. The competition concluded with a tea for the Expedition cyclists and other riders. A prayer of blessings was said for our new friends, and that ended an interesting evening.
Please, dear brothers and sisters, pray for our youth, who think that Christians are only old people, and that Christianity and individuality are different things. The Lord created each person to be special and individual, and He has a special purpose for each of us.
