The Gospel a Dangerous Weapon?

img_4460.jpgOn the banks of the Ufa River, there is a beautiful town called Krasnoufimsk. Wonderful green hills, a blue river and especially clear air make this town look so beautiful. But as we approached the town, we saw a procession of the Russian Orthodox Church. Later on we out found the reason for it.

img_9205.jpgWe visited this town without any previous planning, and this had an effect on our plans for evangelization. The pastor of the local church was not informed beforehand about our arrival, and he did not have time to tell the local administration about it. So we decided to go straight to the town, talk to people and give them the New Testaments. After prayer, we went out into the streets.

When we returned to our cars to get more Bibles, we saw the police waiting for us. They considered our action as a public and mass event, and asked us to see our permission papers. We did not have any, so they asked us to go to the police office to clarify the situation.

A local Orthodox priest, Father Sergei, came there also in order to check the “godliness of our books. Looking through the Gospel, he said that it was a “dangerous weapon in our hands. But “in his hands it is the Holy Scripture. And he said he did not approve of our actions.

img_4451.jpgIt caused a heated discussion. As a result, there was held a lengthy evangelization in the police office with various stories and in various offices, as we were interrogated separately. Praise God, we “used the hands of Father Sergii and gave the New Testaments to the police. In any case, when we fulfill the commandments of the Lord we do it all together. Where the Lord sends us to do His ministry we are to do it and fulfill His will.

Dear brothers and sisters, please pray for all those who heard the Good News!
