Barabinsk is a town with 30,000 inhabitants. It is the administrative center of the Barabinsk district in Russia’s Novosibirsk region, approximately 300 km west of Novosibirsk. We got up at 5.30 a.m. and departed for Tatarsk after breakfast. We arrived there safely. It is a small town with 26 thousand people. In 1894, the Great Trans-Siberian railway was built through this town from west to east. Two miles outside of Tatarsk, a railway station was built and the village began to develop quickly, becoming in time a rather important trading post. [Continue reading We Want to See More of You! …]

We are in Omsk — a big city founded in 1716, the industrial capital of Siberia. In 2006 its population was more than 1 million people. There are 10 Baptist churches and over 1,000 believers. Omsk could be called a Siberian Jerusalem. Several hundred missionaries have been sent from this church to various parts of Russia and even abroad. Covering 340 km in two days, we arrived in the city, which impressed us with its beauty and clean streets. The church amazed us by its love and hospitality. We started at six in the morning and headed for the town of Ishim. It was misty that day. We were to go 200 km. After the first 100 km, the cyclists said they were not tired. During the summer in Siberia, the temperature is hot — above 28 degrees Centigrade. The level of humidity here is very high because of swamps and natural evaporation. It is stuffy in the car. Our average speed is 25 - 30 k/h as in previous days. We want to go out and stretch our muscles, but 10-minute stops are possible only on the command of Vladimir Skovpen.
