Women’s Ministries

Women make up the majority of church membership in the CIS. Because of this, there are great opportunities to spread the Gospel and strengthen the churches through women’s ministries.
Helping UECB churches in developing their first ministries to women is one of SGA’s newest endeavors to serve growing congregations across the lands of Russia. Meeting an important need exacerbated by the 70 years of communist persecution, the opportunity for strengthening and encouraging the women is enormous.
So many pastors and church leaders perished for their faith under communism that the majority of church members in the lands of Russia are women. Working together with UECB leadership, we want to help the pastors serve the women in their churches, helping them in discipleship, helping them further their godly character, helping them in recognizing their roles as women of God and helping them to realize their full potential in service to Christ.
These faithful women want to be taught how to study their Bibles and how to better teach and disciple other women in Christ, as well as children. Many of these godly sisters are serving in prison ministry, orphanage outreach, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, post-abortion trauma centers and as Sunday School teachers where a better grasp of God’s Word is crucial. The UECB churches desire to encourage women to use their spiritual gifts in the context of the local church, their homes, and their communities for the good of the women, for the advancement of the Gospel, and for the glory of God.
