The destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam in southern Ukraine has caused life-threatening flooding from the Dnipro River. Entire towns and houses have been destroyed. Tens of thousands of Ukrainians have already fled their homes, and others are still stranded and unable to evacuate. As the floodwaters continue to rise, we will see more loss of life and destruction to villages and farms—and likely no access to safe drinking water.
