Forty percent of Ukraine’s power stations are now destroyed after recent drone and missile attacks in the ongoing war. More than one million households are experiencing electricity cuts and rolling blackouts.
Internally displaced families, children, and the elderly who have already been suffering now fear the worst as the harsh months of winter quickly approach. They’re wondering how they will keep themselves warm or if they will freeze to death. Many are giving up hope.
Through our Winter Heat and Hope Project, SGA-supported evangelical churches throughout Ukraine will turn their facilities into “centers of heat and hope” — equipped with generators to provide heat and hope through distributing items such as blankets, coal, wood, and other emergency aid, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The worst of winter is coming in Ukraine, and SGA-supported pastors and their congregations cannot do this alone. They need every believer in America who stands with them to equip them to minister in Jesus’ name.
Please share your gift now to provide heat and hope in Ukraine as hurting families face a harsh winter without electricity. Your gift of $75 will help 1 family. $300 will help 4 families. If God allows you to help even more, a gift of $2,800 will help us transport and install a generator to provide heat and power in a church, making it a center of heat and hope.
Only the local churches have the people and facilities in place across Ukraine to provide safe refuge, winter warmth, and real hope through the Gospel message. We’re asking churches across America and all believers to show their support and join us in urgent prayer.
SGA, through our sponsored churches, pastors, and missionaries, has been ministering to the spiritual and physical needs of people in Ukraine since 1934. And we will continue to work through our network of churches to support them spiritually and physically in the months and years to come, by God’s grace.
Now, in this hour of urgent and tragic need, we must care for suffering children and families.
