A place of refuge can be described in many different ways, for many different reasons. But a place where one can take refuge is right in the middle of the Gospel—the perfect place for a broken life to be restored. It is in this place of stillness where God speaks in mighty ways.
Men who find themselves at a breaking point in life are able to find rest in ways that bring healthy stability to their futures. This “rest” doesn’t only come from the discipline of routine and hard work, but through the hearing of the Gospel message and growing in the love of God’s Word. Crisis and addiction can break the spirit, but the hope of God restores.
Please pray for this SGA-supported rehabilitation ministry, as God uses the simplicity of such a place to bring wisdom and soundness to those searching for freedom from the past.
From Brokenness to New Life: Hope at Genesis Support Home
In western Poland, in a small village called Rzegnowo, God is at work in a quiet but powerful way. On the grounds of an old farm stands the Genesis Christian Support Home—a place of refuge for men who have reached the breaking point of life. The property was purchased by the Union of Baptist Churches in Poland, longtime partners of Slavic Gospel Association. What once was simply a neglected farm has become a place of healing, restoration, and new beginnings for men struggling with homelessness, addiction, and deep life crises.
Today, the Home is led by Marcin—a man whose life is a testimony of God’s redeeming grace. Years ago, Marcin himself arrived at this very place as a resident, broken and in need of help. Through the Gospel, discipleship, and patient care, God transformed his life. Now, he serves full-time as the leader of the center, living on-site and walking daily with the men God brings under this roof. The residents receive therapeutic support, structure, and daily responsibility. Life at the center is simple but intentional. One of the main sources of income comes from animal husbandry—especially raising chickens and selling eggs. Caring for the animals is practical, but also deeply therapeutic. It teaches responsibility, consistency, and respect for daily work. The income helps cover basic needs such as food, utilities, and transportation. The property itself is old and in constant need of renovation. Roofs, walls, fences, and living spaces require ongoing repair. But this, too, has become part of the healing process. Together with volunteers and supporters, the residents themselves slowly renovate the farm—learning practical skills while rebuilding something tangible. As the buildings are restored, so are the lives of the men who live there.
In the past year alone, 12 men found shelter and hope at Genesis. They heard the Gospel, encountered the living God, and took their first steps toward a new life—free from addiction and grounded in faith. They also remain connected to the local Baptist church, traveling regularly to worship and growing in Christian community.
What is happening in Rzegnowo is not flashy. It is slow, hands-on, and deeply relational. But it is real. And it is bearing fruit. Please pray for Marcin and the men he is leading through this process of healing. Please pray for renovation works—and ultimately, for salvation for every man living at Genesis Christian Support Home.
