Life if full of uncertain circumstances. For those living in Israel, uncertain circumstances are a part of daily life. But one thing is for certain: God’s love and His sovereignty. He leads each of us down paths that He has specifically prepared and purposed before all time. And He is faithful to walk with us through whatever uncertainty comes our way.
Our response in each of these circumstances demonstrates before Him and others our faithfulness to God and His purposes in our life. As we stand firm in His promises and continue to trust in His leading, we are showing those around us the greatest certainty of all—the hope that we have in Jesus and eternal life with Him.
No matter how difficult the days are or how defeated we may feel, we have a great God who is forever sure and faithful! Please continue to pray for the believers in Israel, as they remain faithful to share the Good News of the Gospel in these difficult days.
Sent by SGA Storyteller Olena in Israel:
My name is Suren. I was born in [Central Asia] in 1979, and when I was 12 years old in 1991, my life took a new direction as I immigrated to Israel with my mother and sister. It was a new land, unfamiliar and uncertain, and at that time I did not yet understand the path before me.
Many years passed before I truly encountered God. In 2020, I received the Lord as my Savior and became part of [an SGA-supported church] in Ashkelon. From that moment, faith became more than knowledge or tradition—it became a living relationship. God is no longer distant to me; He is near, real, and personal. In prayer, I open my heart to Him, bringing both my joys and my struggles, trusting that He hears me and cares for every detail of my life.
Living in Israel means living with constant tension and the reality of conflict. As a reservist in the IDF [Israel Defense Forces], I often find myself in situations where human strength is not enough and the future feels uncertain. In those moments, prayer becomes the breath of my soul. Before and during my service, I seek God’s mercy and protection, and time after time I witness His faithfulness—how He guards me and those who serve alongside me.
Among fellow soldiers, in simple conversations and everyday moments, I try to share the hope that has changed my life—the hope found in the Gospel and in my Savior. Some listen, others turn away, but I do not lose heart. I know whom I have believed.
And today, my desire is to remain faithful—to stand firm in my faith, to trust God in every circumstance, and to fulfill my calling as a follower of Yeshua, wherever He leads me.
