Editor’s Note: An SGA-supported team member in Central Asia shares the following testimony.

It is sometimes beyond comprehension how God takes the deepest pains that we hold within our hearts and turns them into beautiful stories of grace! When we hold on to anger, bitterness, and unforgiveness, the weight of our burdens gets heavier with each passing day.

However, when the light of the Gospel begins to shine into our hearts, that heaviness slowly lightens day by day. Through the hearing and reading of God’s Word, through prayer, and the encouragement of other believers, our deepest pains turn into our greatest assets, as we are then able to minister to others who find themselves needing to hear about God’s stories of grace. Please pray for SGA-supported church-based rehab ministriesas many beautiful stories of God’s grace are being written.

From a drug rehabilitation ministry report in Kazakhstan:

Dear brothers and sisters at SGA!

Please accept our sincere gratitude for your financial support. Thanks to your donations, we are able to regularly visit those facing difficult life situations, share God’s love with them, organize Bible study meetings, and provide spiritual support. We are witnessing how the Lord is changing hearts and transforming the lives of individuals.

I’d like to focus particularly on Anastasia’s story. When we first met, she was undergoing mandatory treatment at a drug rehabilitation clinic. From the very first days, Anastasia showed a keen interest in the meetings that we organized in the department. She listened intently to the sermons, read the Bible, and asked us numerous deep, sincere questions about faith, forgiveness, and God’s love.

During one of our conversations, Anastasia opened up and shared the deep pain in her heart. She confessed that she had been unable to forgive her mother for many years, resulting in her constant emotional anguish. Together, we prayed and reflected on Bible verses concerning forgiveness. We entrusted this issue into the Lord’s hands. After some time, a true miracle of God’s grace occurred. Anastasia took the first step toward reconciliation by writing a letter to her mother. In it, she sincerely asked for forgiveness and expressed her desire to restore their relationship. This was a significant and difficult act for her, and it served as a vivid testimony to the inner work of the Holy Spirit.

Upon finishing her therapy at the drug rehabilitation facility, Anastasia continued on her path to recovery. She is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the Christian center, actively attending Sunday church services, and growing stronger in her faith. Additionally, she stays in touch with women who are still undergoing treatment, shares her experiences of how God has helped her, and encourages them to join our gatherings. We are grateful to the Lord for her life and for her serving as a model and inspiration to others.
