In just a few short weeks, SGA-supported Immanuel’s Child (IC) outreaches will begin across the former Soviet countries. With some of the countries now also celebrating Christmas on December 25, this season of ministry now extends from then to the traditional Eastern Christmas celebrations on January 7.
Seasonal SGA-supported ministries such as Immanuel’s Child often lead to further ministry opportunities throughout the year. One great example is from the nation of Moldova, where SGA/USA began working in the last few years. Our partners helped provide funds for Sunday school materials, and the children began attending after the church’s Immanuel’s Child Christmas celebration. The Toaka family in Moldova was active in the Christmas outreach and joyfully expressed their thanksgiving for the additional ministry for the children. “Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, we thank you wholeheartedly for your help in purchasing the necessary supplies for the Sunday school and children’s club in the village of Budesti. Thanks to your support, we were able to organize a three-day Passover camp attended by Sunday school kids and newcomers experiencing it for the first time. In total, about 50 children attended the event and spent these days actively and productively. Using the donated money, we purchased materials for crafts and activities.

We were also able to purchase materials for Bible lessons and creative activities. The paper will be used to make angels and ornaments, while the cardboard will be utilized to create a cross, symbolizing sacrifice. Additionally, we purchased puzzles to help with constructive and educational activities, etc. We have some leftover materials and are happy to use them in the children’s club that gathers every Saturday. We sincerely appreciate your generosity! May the Lord bless you abundantly and reward you a hundredfold!”

The Lord has also opened the door to reach children in Israel, and a congregation in Ashkelon shared a quick update. “At our Immanuel’s Child outreach, numerous individuals showed up, many of whom had never been to church before. For many of them, it was their first time hearing the Gospel! Following the service, we presented gifts and Christian books to the kids. We sincerely thank all who gave to this ministry. May the Lord keep using you for His glory and reward you a hundredfold!”

Please pray for this year’s outreaches, asking God to draw even greater numbers of children to hear the Gospel and the true meaning of Christmas.
