Since 1934, God has used Slavic Gospel Association (SGA) to spread the Good News, plant churches, and make disciples through many challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic is the latest heartbreaking challenge that we face along with the churches we serve across the former Soviet Union. We believe that this crisis represents one of the greatest opportunities for the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in modern times.
Even as our staff works remotely, we maintain close contact with our partner churches, teaching institutions, and ministries in the former Soviet Union. And in response to the massive humanitarian and spiritual needs as COVID-19 severely impacts Russia and her neighboring countries, SGA has issued a global call to prayer—Christ Over COVID: Much Prayer, Much Power!
SGA is mobilizing Christians around the globe. It is a special time in the world, and God is doing something! We have PRAYED for God’s grace, mercy, and blessing in the face of this disease. AND through your PRAYERS, He has strengthened hundreds of partner churches in the Slavic nation as they deliver the Good News of Jesus Christ to hurting people in their villages and cities. In Jesus’ name, they are helping to provide food, hygiene items, and medicine to those in dire need. In fact, by the grace of God over 1.8 million meals have been distributed so far. We pray for their continued protection as they respond in sharing the Gospel with those who are desperate for Good News.
SGA’s Christ Over COVID: Much Prayer, Much Power campaign is mobilizing Christians around the world. Please join your brothers and sisters in Christ as we lift our prayers to God’s throne! We will PRAY for His grace, mercy, and blessing in the face of this disease, especially for Christ’s churches in Russia and her surrounding nations. Get your daily email each day with requests:

When the COVID-19 crisis struck the nations of the former Soviet Union, God had His network of churches positioned to respond. Today this network includes some 6,350 churches, and SGA has been there to help them since our founding in 1934 by Peter Deyneka. One SGA-sponsored missionary pastor named Vladimir, in Ukraine, recently wrote, “If we stop giving food to these families, they will simply be left to starvation.” Yet Vladimir comes in the name of Christ—delivering items such as food, medicine, hygiene items, Bibles, and the Gospel! And the Lord has graciously answered our prayers. To date, over 1.8 million meals have been delivered. This is happening across 10 nations of the former Soviet Union—a wide-open door for Christ.
Your gift to SGA’s Christ Over COVID call to prayer and urgent aid will help hundreds of SGA partner churches in Slavic nations deliver items such as food, hygiene items, medicine, and the Gospel to hurting people. Our team will direct emergency funds to help where needed most.
