Editor’s Note: An SGA-supported pastor in Ukraine shares the following testimony.

“It is our mission to see such wounded hearts and share love with them, and this love is Jesus Christ.” Many missionary pastors are fulfilling this mission today throughout the country of Ukraine. In the midst of the heartbreak and uncertainty of what the future holds, pastors are sharing the wonderful truth of the Gospel with those who walk through their church doors.

And how many other people in Ukraine are like her (Natalia), lost on their own paths and do not know about the love of the Lord.” Just as Christ came to seek and save the lost, as written in Luke 19:10, we are called to share that truth with those around us.

Seeking the lost is not very difficult in these days because people are pushing through the doors of the churches. And when they saved through faith, they are realizing the true peace that comes through being found. Please continue to pray for the many SGA-supported missionary pastors who witness these broken lives and have conversations of salvation every day.

This is a testimony from Natalia. It is about how the Word of God transformed her life to a new life with Christ.

At our first Bible study group, Natalia listened very carefully and then came to me to tell me about her pain and grief. She told me that a few years ago her daughter had been killed right on the street in the neighborhood where our church is located. The tragedy of this murder is that her daughter’s killer has not been caught yet and is still at large. These are the realities in which we live today.

I listened to Natalia and prayed for her and for the Lord to intervene in this case Himself, for God’s truth to be in this situation, and for Natalia to have the strength to submit everything to His righteous judgment. A few months later, during our last conversation, Natalia expressed her regret that she had not heard about God and who He truly is. “I realize now,” she says, “that everything in my life could have gone in a different way. If only I had known about God earlier and heard the truth of Christ. If only I had had the opportunity to study the Word of God and attend a church where Jesus Christ was preached. I would have prayed and my daughter would not have been killed. I believe that there would not have been such grief in my family,” she said. As a pastor, I believe that with God’s help, Natalia will keep going, trusting the Lord and drawing closer to Him. God gave this meeting and He has His perfect plan for Natalia. And how many other people in Ukraine are like her, lost on their own paths and do not know about the love of the Lord. It is our mission to see such wounded hearts and share love with them, and this love is Jesus Christ!
