Editor’s Note: An SGA-supported pastor in Moldova provides the following testimony.

What a difference a family makes! Many orphan children spend their days watching their parents abuse alcohol and neglect to provide basic needs for their family. These children do not have the opportunity to learn and grow up in a healthy environment. They aren’t taught even the most basic tools of life, such as what it means to be responsible, or to work and study hard.

However, God sees and cares for each individual life. Often, He uses the church-based teams of faithful believers working through the SGA-supported Orphans Reborn ministryto show these children a new way of life. Through this ministry, the orphan children become part of a new family—the family of God. They begin to see “parents” in a new way and learn from them about their Father in Heaven, who is our only perfect Father.

Continue to pray for all of these children who are living in unhealthy circumstances. Pray also for the men and women who faithfully minister to their hearts and show them something different.

My name is Dima. I’m 15 years old. I would like to briefly tell you about myself. I used to live in a town called Taraclia. Our family was poor. I did not go to school much and would rather have attended sports training. I didn’t really believe in the existence of God. One day my mom got sick and the people from the Children’s Services came to us. They told her to have her health checked. She drank heavily and didn’t really look after us, so we were taken care of by our grandmother. Although our grandmother was drinking too, she still always tried to provide food for us and send us to school. One day, our grandmother’s legs failed and she couldn’t walk.

After a couple of weeks, we were taken to another family. Here I started going to school and to the church. In the evenings we all got together and read the Bible. Here, I learned who God is and I began to believe in Him with more faith. I enjoy being in this family very much and I am happy that I got here and that I have parents now. Praise God!
