In 1985, Dr. Goertzen earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from Southeastern Bible College. He went on to attend The Master’s Seminary where he earned a Master’s Degree in Divinity and a Doctorate in Ministry. Since 1983, he has served on the staff of five churches in the states of Alabama, Louisiana, California, and Kansas. Since 2016, Dr. Goertzen has served as the lead pastor at Shades Mountain Community Church in Hoover, Alabama.
Mr. Abbott holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from California Polytechnic State University. He served as a software engineer for IBM until his recent retirement.
Mr. Johnson served as Vice President of Advancement at SGA from 1997-2003 and was named President of SGA in May 2017. He began his career as an account manager and supervisor at highly respected international advertising agencies from 1986 to 1995, serving major consumer brands. He later moved to nonprofit agency leadership at KMA Direct Communications and then at Douglas Shaw & Associates, where he served as Senior Vice President for 11 years before rejoining SGA.
Mr. Kult holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Loras College, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Marquette University, and a Master’s Degree of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Since 2011, Mr. Kult has been serving as Pastor of Discipleship at Bethel Baptist Church in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Prior to entering the pastorate, he spent 13 years as Region President of Johnson Bank, and two years as Vice President of Johnson Keland Management.
Dr. Gregory holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Studies from Bob Jones University, a Master’s Degree in Divinity from Capital Bible Seminary and a Doctorate in Ministry from Grace Theological Seminary. He currently serves as the senior pastor of Grace Bible Church in Fair Oaks, California.
Mr. Tillman received a Degree in Business Management from Northern Illinois University. He worked for Sparkling Spring Mineral Water Company until his retirement in 2002.
Mr. Leopold earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Penn State University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Chicago. He worked as the officer in charge of distributed data processing for Kemper Insurance.
Mr. Wauterlek holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois. As the head of Hamilton Partners’ Industrial Division, he has been responsible for all leasing, management, and development of the Chicago Industrial department for the last 30 years.
Dr. Atkinson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and an M.D. from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a Resident in Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia and a Fellow in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of California, San Diego. He went on to establish his practice of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery in Raleigh, North Carolina, from which he retired in 1993. He continues to provide occasional consulting services mostly on a volunteer basis.
Rev. Ball received a Bachelor of Religious Education from Prairie Bible College in 1981. From 1981 until 2015, he served at four Canadian churches in the capacity of Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor and Senior Pastor. He has served on the Canadian Advisory Board of the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism and on the board of Life Action Revival Ministries. In 2016, he became Executive Director of SGA/Canada.
Dr. Rich holds an Associate’s Degree in Accounting and Marketing from Hutchinson Community College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Studies from The Master’s College, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Liberty University, and Doctorate of Education in Organizational Management and Higher Education Leadership from North Central University. Dr. Rich has served in a variety of leadership and management roles in both the for-profit and the non-profit world. He joined Sterling College in 2008 as Chief Financial Officer and was inaugurated as the college’s 12th president in 2016.
