Ukraine Relief
Editor’s Note: The report and images below were provided by an SGA-supported church in Ukraine.

Sometimes God answers our prayers in ways don’t think of. Many SGA-supported churches across Ukraine can probably say that they never expected to see God grow their churches through a time of war in the past year. But He has.

In His providence, he has brought many new regular attendees in the form of IDPs [internally displaced persons] to be cared for with compassion, to hear the Gospel, and to receive Jesus as Savior and Lord.  Many of these hurting Ukrainians had to flee their communities — many times with only the clothes on their backs.

We pray they will feel at home very quickly in a new household of faith, and we thank God for His favor as churches in our network continue to receive emergency supplies delivered by truck from Poland each week. These congregations distribute humanitarian aid and the hope of the Gospel to IDPs and others in need — and it is heartening to see the impact for Christ!

Here is a recent report from one church sponsored by SGA . . .

Since the beginning of the war, [our church] has been serving IDPs. During this time, many activities have been held: children’s activities, teenage and youth meetings, and small Bible study groups. The resources we received this time were used to do evangelism to 72 adults and 38 teenagers.

Thank you very much: these food and hygiene items have become a vital necessity for everyone, as 100% of the people are IDPs and need special care during the war! May God bless your giving hands and kind hearts.”

They also shared a testimony of a family helped through the outreach . . .

My name is Yulia. My husband and I live in [a Ukrainian city] with our two children. My daughter is 12 years old, and my son turned 18 last summer. My husband was unemployed until early October, and in the fall his company moved to [a different city]. He has to work there, while we live [here], because our son is studying . . . and has to travel there from time to time. We are grateful to [this] church for the constant help with food and hygiene products. [My husband’s] salary covers the rent of the apartment [where he works] and half of the rent [here where I live] . . . In the meantime, after being stressed by sitting in the basement during the bombing, my daughter cannot stay alone during the air raids. We are very grateful for this support, as well as for the love, care, and concern that continuously heals our hearts.

In a time of great uncertainty, God is bringing help, healing, and hope to the people of Ukraine through SGA-supported pastors, churches, a seminary, and SGA-sponsored Compassion Ministry. Be a part of God’s incredible work with your generosity and prayer support.

Your gift of compassion helps struggling people with emergency aid that generally includes Scripture materials, food, medicine, warm clothing, and shoes.
