Editor’s Note: The following report is provided by Eric Mock, SGA’s Senior Vice President of Ministry Operations.

This past spring, I had the great privilege of attending the graduation ceremony at Irpen Biblical Seminary in Ukraine—an event that was both deeply moving and profoundly hopeful.

Eighty students graduated, surrounded not by the pristine setting one might expect, but by scorched walls and the lingering reminders of war. And yet, the atmosphere was anything but somber. These students, many of them young and newly called to ministry, stood bold and joyful, ready to serve Christ in a time when hope is so urgently needed.

Graduates received certificates in programs including Pastoral Theology, Music Ministry, and Deaf Ministry. They each walked away with resources provided thanks to generous SGA supporters like you—a set of biblical books and a Bible to continue their journey of faith and leadership. I had the honor of speaking during the ceremony and was humbled by how many students personally expressed thanks to SGA and all of you who have given so generously to support and rebuild this vital seminary.

The day before graduation, I sat in a board meeting led by Irpen’s new president, Mykola Romanyuk, who also pastors Irpen Bible Church. His heart for ministry and commitment to equipping churches radiated in every word. He shared that the seminary now has 608 students enrolled, with 177 studying remotely within Ukraine, and 61 in joint training programs across two locations in Poland. The Ukrainian Baptist Union has reaffirmed Irpen as its central training institution—a powerful affirmation of God’s work through this school.

In the face of destruction, Irpen Biblical Seminary is thriving. The church in Ukraine is rising. And together, we get to be a part of it. To God be the glory!
