Persistence in adversity is a gift from the Lord. Many of us would turn away when we feel rejected, but strength and trust in the Lord urges us on.
We are called to be a light and example to those around us, and to show the world who Christ is.
To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps” (1 Peter 2:21).
Many faithful men and women in Israel are delivering much needed aid to those in need, supported through the SGA’s Compassion Ministry. These “food packs” of aid are delivered in the love of Christ, with the message of the Gospel. Sometimes the people behind the doors where they knock are so ready to receive the gifts. Other times, the doors can be slammed in their faces. However, with persistence, they continue knocking, in hopes that one day the door would remain open, and another heart would be saved. “She seemed changed, shook his hand, smiled, and thanked Aaron for the help.” Please pray for Monica, and that God would lead her heart to repentance. Also, please pray for the faithful servants who carry the burden for the lives behind these “closed doors.”
Here is more from Kristi’s ministry report from Israel. . .
“Shalom, dear friends.
Thank you for your prayers and support during this difficult time. May God bless you!
A brother from our church, named Aron* has been delivering grocery gifts to Monica*, his extended family member. The girl has a drug addiction.
At first, Monica was annoyed with him for coming and talking about Christ. Once she told him not to come anymore and not to leave groceries.
Yet, the girl was badly nourished. But because of her hate for Christians, she did not want to take any help.
Aaron shared this story at the church. We prayed for God to soften Monica’s heart. The next time he visited Monica, he just dropped the groceries off at her apartment. She seemed changed, shook his hand, smiled, and thanked Aaron for the help.
We pray for God to lead her to repentance.”
