“Christ not only spoke, but He gave bread to the needy first and then the Word.” Meeting the spiritual needs of people is of great importance, but as SGA-supported Pastor Alexander shares in the story below, sometimes it is of utmost importance to meet a physical need first.

When Oksana and her family were helped in a desperate situation, this mom and her children immediately saw Christ at work in their lives. Alexander spoke to them in action and then in word. The door to Oksana’s heart and home were opened by the love of Christ in more ways than one. Alexander is grateful that he has had the opportunity to impact not only the lives of the children who now live in the orphanages, but also to former orphans like Oksana, through SGA-supported Orphans Reborn ministry. Please pray for Oksana and join with Alexander and his team as they also pray for her family’s salvation. “We are fasting and praying that the Lord will bless our evangelization abundantly.”
Here is more from Alexander’s ministry report . . .
“Greetings, dear friends, it has been a fast-paced month, and I am happy to share our news with you again.
“I thank the Lord that He not only cleansed my heart, but also speaks to my heart. Meeting Oksana and getting to know her was definitely from the Lord! She is 44 years old. She is an orphan, a former boarding school student. She has never experienced parental love and care. At the age of 19, she got pregnant and gave birth to a daughter. It seemed that happiness had smiled on her. She got married and gave birth to six children, but after a while she experienced betrayal again. Her husband left the family, not wanting to be involved in the upbringing of their children. She was left alone with the children. She faced the question of how to survive and feed her children. The very worst thing was that Oksana had never heard about Jesus Christ and salvation. Going around to the [other] churches to somehow feed her family, no one had ever offered her a New Testament. When I visited this family, I saw hungry children. They did not have good clothes, nor whole shoes. Oksana supports the children on a salary of $180 U.S. dollars a month. She works at a school as a janitor. The children slept on the floor in the bathroom. There was no light because the sockets were burnt out. I couldn’t tell her that Jesus loves her and then just leave, so I decided to help her as Christ did. I found an electrician who restored the light by putting in new outlets. We purchased clothes and shoes for the children and also provided necessary medicines. I brought them potatoes, bought groceries and vegetables. We bought two beds, one single bed and one double bed. The children slept on the floor.
“Dear friends, when I brought all this to their house, they cried, especially Oksana. When Oksana calmed down and wiped the tears from her eyes she said, ‘Can you give me a Bible, I have never even held one in my hands, I want to read the Bible and I want you to take us to your church, I really want to hear about God.’ It was in that moment I could see God’s love for her and her family.
“Thank you, dear friends. It is because of your willingness to help that makes it easier for me to reach people’s hearts. Christ not only spoke, but He gave bread to the needy first and then the Word.
“This Sunday we are organizing evangelization services in the morning and evening, and we will bring Oksana and her children. We are fasting and praying that the Lord will bless our evangelization abundantly.
“Please support us in prayer. With respect and love, Alexander”
