In recent days, the war between Israel and Iran has intensified with the destruction of people, buildings, and military sites. Hundreds of missiles and drones have been fired into Israel with some hitting their mark.
Great devastation has followed—including where a ballistic missile hit 300 feet away from an SGA-supported church in the coastal city of Bat Yam. See the heartbreaking results in the video below (we praise God that all in the church are well).
Sheltering in place and in bomb shelters is the standard of the day. Yet while most are taking cover, SGA-supported training in Israel advances . . . pressing on for the sake of the Gospel. SGA’s director of Bible training shares with us: “We have classes this week. We planned to have an intensive course at the college, but now our students have intensive course via Zoom. I hope we will come to college soon. Also, we have seminars in [missionary pastor] Yura’s church and other ministries as well.”
Without missing a beat, the work of equipping future pastors, teachers, and evangelists for the work of ministry in Israel continues. As we read in Ephesians 4:11-12 . . . And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ. What a powerful reminder that God is greater than even the warring of nations.
