It is easy for those of us in America to take for granted just how easy it is to grab a book from a local store and read it in our own language. Some in other countries are very limited in what is available to them. This is a great tragedy for those desiring to grow in their knowledge of our Lord.
Having Chrisitan literature translated is a great help for pastors and leaders as they faithfully disciple and train up men and women in their churches for ministry. “Providing reliable biblical commentaries in Polish equips pastors to preach more faithfully, helps small group leaders teach with greater clarity, and allows individual believers to grow in their understanding of God’s Word,” SGA Storyteller Dominika says in her report from Poland.
As SGA continues to translate and print much-needed literature for the churches we serve, please pray for the men and women who will open the pages of these books and gain wisdom for their daily lives and ministries. From Dominika . . .
In recent years, there has been a growing hunger for God’s Word among believers in Poland. While more and more people are turning to the Bible for guidance and truth, one significant challenge remains—the lack of solid, trustworthy biblical commentaries and theological resources in the Polish language.
For many pastors, church leaders, and laypeople, the ability to deeply study Scripture is often limited by the scarcity of sound, Bible-centered tools available in their native language. Unlike English-speaking Christians, who have access to an abundance of faithful commentaries and theological works, Polish believers often rely on outdated, translated materials or simply go without. That is why the ministry of Christian publishing is so essential in our context. Providing reliable biblical commentaries in Polish equips pastors to preach more faithfully, helps small group leaders teach with greater clarity, and allows individual believers to grow in their understanding of God’s Word. Sound literature strengthens the church by grounding its teaching in truth. For example, when a commentary on Romans or Ephesians becomes available in Polish, it immediately becomes a valuable tool not only for sermon preparation, but for personal discipleship and spiritual formation. Many church members testify that having access to biblically faithful resources in their own language opens their eyes to the richness of the Gospel in ways they had never seen before.
This is why we are deeply thankful for the support of partners like Slavic Gospel Association, who not only care about training pastors and planting churches, but also understand the long-term value of publishing strong theological works. Every book that is translated, edited, and printed in Polish becomes a quiet but powerful missionary—reaching homes, churches, and hearts across the nation just as the SGA-supported publication of the Polish edition of the monumental The MacArthur Bible Commentary has. In a country where biblical literacy is still growing, and where evangelical believers remain a small minority, publishing is not a luxury—it is a strategic necessity. The written Word helps sustain the preached Word. It strengthens the Church today and lays a foundation for the next generation of believers. We believe that the faithful investment in Christian literature will bear fruit for years to come, as God’s people are equipped to rightly handle the Word of truth. We are deeply thankful to your support in this area.
