Editor’s Note: An SGA-supported pastor in Israel shares the following report.

In this fast-paced world, most of us want, and even expect things to happen immediately. Patience is not something that is easy to maintain in our lives, especially when we are anxiously awaiting a specific outcome. However, our timing is not always God’s timing. It would be wonderful to see the big picture, but God holds that in His hands. For us, we are to remain faithful through our words, actions, and prayers.

This is exactly what happens on a daily basis for those who faithfully minister to unbelieving families through SGA-supported Compassion Ministry. While meeting the physical needs of these families, the Gospel is also being presented in word. The love of Christ is being witnessed through the men and women who are delivering this message. Although it sometimes takes time for a heart to be changed, we can be patient in the waiting by trusting God with the results. As you read the following ministry report from Pastor Pavel, please continue to pray that many in Israel will come to know the saving faith of Christ

Shalom, dear friends! Thank you for being there for us! I just want to share a few things about the life of our church in the past days.

During the war with Iran and into a few weeks later, many people experienced a sense of anxiety. The situation has seen some improvement now as people are more optimistic, returning to a bit of normalcy, going to work and even taking vacations. We continue holding worship services on Friday evenings. We share meals together and have fellowship. And of course, we worship God, hearing from His Word and praying together for the blessing of Israel and for new people coming to Christ. We also lead a small group Bible study and a floorball sports club in the middle of the week.

There are a few people who started attending the church but are not yet followers of Christ. They are still on their journey. They gladly bring their children to our Bible class and sports club though. Some of these people are here due to their military service and feel lonely, being far from their loved ones. This loneliness and anxiety affects them, and they find themselves in a vulnerable position. Along with your prayers and financial contributions, and our church involvement, we are able to help and encourage these people. It adds to the extension of the Kingdom of God. The supported individuals and families also get involved in different church activities during the week. They are also welcomed at the believers’ homes as dear guests. This is a process, and it doesn’t always go as quickly as we would hope. But the Holy Spirit is working with their hearts, and we notice the changes in their attitudes and how they desire to change.

It should also be noted that each time we visit with food and other necessary items, many people are very thankful to the church for the support. Given that food costs in Israel rank among the most expensive in the world, this support is important and quite significant, especially for those who have newly arrived in Israel. Most have not yet fully learned Hebrew, and they have not yet reached the professional level they used to have in their own country of origin before repatriation.

Please pray for the repentance of Rustam and Maria, Enya and Pavel, Yuri, Alena, Alina, and their families and friends. Pray also for the Israeli people to be open to the Gospel, and for God to show us people with whom we can share the Gospel message. Thank you for ministering together!
