Pastor Stepan (l) brings food and the love of Christ to Nelia (r) and her family.
Editor’s Note: An SGA-supported pastor in Ukraine shares the following testimony. Pastor Stepan (l) brings food and the love of Christ to Nelia (r) and her family.

“We notice how their hearts are changing, how they behave kindly toward one another, pray, and tell us at home, about what they have learned at their church.” Mothers and fathers are seeing the changes in the hearts of their children, as many of these little ones have begun attending different ministries in the local churches. One of these stories began with a timely visit and some much-needed food provided through SGA-supported Compassion Ministry. “But it is not only the food that has become important to us, but also the kind words, warmth, and spiritual support that the believers from your church have brought into our home.”

As you’ll read in the story below, it wasn’t just the food that was delivered, but it was the heart of the church. It was the kindness and the care. It was the example of God’s love being seen in these church members that was eventually seen also in the children of this family. God uses children in mighty ways—sometimes even to change the hearts of their parents. Through the busyness and chaos of taking care of a large family, this mom and dad were able to see clearly how God has had a great impact on their children.

Please pray that this couple will come to know the saving faith of Jesus Christ very soon. Also, please continue to pray for the men and women who faithfully serve through SGA-supported Compassion MinistryThis is not just a food drop off, but instead a great opportunity for the churches to love and care for lost souls.

My name is Nelia, I am a mother of 12 children. Our home is constantly on the move: getting ready for school, cooking, housework, worries, children’s arguments, and hugs. A large family is a big responsibility, but also a great blessing. We can’t hide the fact that it’s very difficult sometimes. It’s hard to make both ends meet, especially when everything is getting more expensive. That’s why we are sincerely grateful to everyone who helps families like ours. Your help was very timely and necessary, and it really supported us. But it is not only the food that has become important to us, but also the kind words, warmth, and spiritual support that the believers from your church have brought into our home. We deeply appreciate it.

Our children happily attend Sunday school at the church and the “Future” children’s club, which takes place every Saturday. They love this time very much, especially singing Christian songs. We notice how their hearts are changing, how they behave kindly toward one another, pray, and tell us at home about what they have learned at their church. My husband and I are not yet members of the church, but we can honestly say that what we see in our children makes us think. Through their example, their openness, and the stories they bring home from church, our hearts are beginning to open. We are beginning to think about God more and more, and listen to what He wants to say to us through our children.

We thank everyone who prays, supports, and serves. Your help is more than just things or packages. It is genuine care that opens doors to something greater. These are small steps toward God that begin in the hearts of children, and then touch adults.
