For many years now, SGA partners have helped thousands of needy families across the former Soviet Union through Operation Winter Warmth. We recently received some wonderful reports from SGA-supported missionary pastors that we want to pass on. Be blessed and encouraged!

Bringing Christ’s love to Melania

We have been taking care of an elderly woman named Melania for a long time. She was widowed a long time ago. Her children fled abroad when the war broke out. Her son has cerebral palsy, and her daughter’s husband is suffering from severe diabetes. It is very sad to see her worrying about her children and her emotional suffering. We have brought her to church several times so that she can listen to the Word of God and enjoy the singing of Christian songs. Melania loves to be in church, but due to her health condition it is difficult for her to sit there for a long time.

Visiting Melania in her home.

So we visit Melania at home, and she is happy to listen to us and always enjoys the conversation. It also depends on her health. At the beginning of the war, she had surgery after a heart attack. She knows that it was the Lord who saved her life, and we tell her about the love of Christ, Who wants to save her soul as well. We pray and believe that soon she will be our sister in Christ.

Reaching out to disabled Mykhailo

Bringing aid to Mykhailo

Mykhailo has been disabled since childhood and lives alone. Most of his pension goes to pay for utilities, and these funds are not always enough. In addition, Mykhailo needs medicines, but his pension is often not enough to pay for them. During this difficult period, he was provided with food, which was a real help for this elderly man. He expresses his sincere gratitude not only to God, but also to all the kind people who supported him at this time. This help is more than just food, it is hope and a reminder that even in difficult moments of life, Mykhailo can feel support, and that mercy and care from others changes his attitude towards God and people.

A struggling addict, Olena, comes to Christ!

This help was so timely for Olena. When we arrived, she had just run out of food and had no money to buy something to eat. Olena grew up in a poor family. From her youth, she drank alcohol and ended up at the very bottom of this addiction. Because of this, she could not work and no one would offer her a good job. But Olena still found some part-time work where she was paid a small salary. She was treated with disrespect and humiliation. Olena lost her faith in anything good. It is very difficult for such people to get out of addiction without any support.

Olena came to Christ through Compassion Ministry.

People stopped believing in her, and that she would get better. Almost everyone rejected her and distanced themselves from her. Olena started coming to the House of Prayer to get food. When she heard the Gospel for the first time, she was very encouraged to know that the Lord loves her, accepts her, and cares about what happens to her. She accepted the Gospel with great joy. Now Olena attends meetings, listens to the Word of God, and actively offers her help in cleaning the House of Prayer. It is wonderful when a little help does such a great work for God. We are extremely grateful to you for this project and such timely help. May God richly bless you all for your good efforts!
