Editor’s Note: An SGA-supported pastor in Ukraine shares the following testimony.

To some, Christmas and Easter are just a day off, or a “one time a year” visit to church. But to believers, the time from Christmas to Easter is the beautiful true story of salvation and the hope of eternal life. Through the SGA-supported Immanuel’s Child Christmas ministry, the beginning of this beautiful story was shared through the celebration of Christ’s birth. It didn’t end there though!

At Easter, the churches SGA serves followed up from their Immanuel’s Child Christmas outreaches to share the rest of the story—the death and resurrection of God’s Son, and His saving grace. Through that amazing story comes many more testimonies of God’s saving grace, as we hear about the children who are believing in Jesus, turning their lives around, and learning to follow Jesus, their Savior. Please pray for this beautiful ministry, because through it comes the greatest story ever told. Here is the testimony of a child in Ukraine . . .

“My name is David. I had the opportunity to go to church on two different holidays: Christmas and Easter. From the first holiday, I understood that it wasn’t just a holiday where people receive gifts, but that on this day, the Savior of the whole world was born. Since then, I decided to attend church regularly because I wanted to learn more about the Savior of the world—about Christ. Every time I learned something new from the Bible, I became more and more curious: what happened next? What happened to Jesus? And then there was His death on the cross for sinners. It was God’s plan to give His Son to die so that many would be saved and live with Jesus in heaven. After the cross, there was the resurrection of Christ from the dead.

“Now I understand more and more the role of Jesus in my life and in the lives of other people! I understood, or perhaps God Himself revealed and showed me, how and why Christ allowed Himself to be crucified! He bore such a terrible burden for sinful people. I am grateful to the church for encouraging people to come to church services and listen to the Word of God, and to God for revealing His truth through His Word to those who sincerely believe in Him. I sincerely believe that Jesus died for my sins. I also received a wonderful gift with so many useful things in it. Thank you to everyone who loves us, cares for us, and participates in our lives. Thank you!”
