Editor’s Note: An SGA Storyteller in Far East Russia shares the following testimony.

Sometimes it is easy to talk about the big ministries. Ministries that bring in hundreds of people. Our world seems to believe the bigger, the more fruitful. But God is at work even in the smallest of gatherings. He is there even when only a few people gather. He works through the faithful believers who continue to serve in the smallest of places, and with very few people.

These circumstances most often bring greater thankfulness, as there is much reliance on Christ and His hand in the outcome. Only one child attended our Sunday school, but now there are already five children!” What a blessing to look at only five children as a great gift from the Lord! Let us always remember to be thankful in the small things.

As you read his testimony below about the impact of an SGA-supported Immanuel’s Child event, please pray for SGA-supported Pastor Anatoly and his church as they continue to serve in their small village.

God Is At Work In The Small Places A Village Pastor’s Testimony

Our church is located in a small village, we do not have many people in it, but we all try to work for Christ. This past Christmas, we organized an event for kids, we prepared an outreach and gifts. We had a task—each member of the church had to invite at least two families that had children. God is good, and therefore ten children came to the Christmas event. For us—this is amazing, considering the current situation in the village. Moreover, two adults stayed to watch our outreach. Now, we keep in touch with them, we invite them to Bible study groups, as well as just to communicate with believers in everyday life. If we talk about big blessings—only one child attended our Sunday school, but now there are already five children!

It is such a small testimony that even if you start God’s work in a very small village, not by your own strength, but by God’s—His work will be fulfilled.
