Four years after the invasion forces were driven out of the city of Irpin and surrounding villages in Ukraine, the memories remain vivid for many families today. During those dark days, communities endured violence, fear, and uncertainty. Yet even in the midst of suffering, God was at work through His people.
Believers from a local church stepped forward with courage—helping neighbors find safety and offering hope when it was needed most. Even in the final moments before danger reached their doors, they continued rescuing others.
Today, those same communities are witnessing something remarkable.
New Churches Born from Crisis
In the aftermath of war, SGA-supported churches began distributing aid in multiple locations—providing bags of groceries, basic supplies, and encouragement to struggling families. But more importantly, they shared the hope of the Gospel.
And God used it.
From those efforts, new churches have been planted, one being led by a young SGA-supported missionary pastor named Iiya. What began as a response to crisis has grown into thriving communities of faith. One woman’s testimony captures this transformation: “I was an atheist. And now after the war, I found Christ and a family.”
How God Is Working Through the Church
This is the heart of ministry in Ukraine today. In war-torn areas, SGA-supported churches are:
Through these acts of compassion, God opens doors for eternal change. What begins as physical help often leads to spiritual restoration—new believers, strengthened churches, and entire communities impacted for Christ.
A Continuing Mission of Hope
The story unfolding in Ukraine is not only one of survival—but of new life. Churches are growing. Leaders are rising. And people who once lived without hope are now walking in faith.
As friends like you continue to pray and give, you help equip these churches to keep going—reaching more people, planting more congregations, and proclaiming the Gospel where it is needed most. Even in the ashes of war, God is building His church.
