Although the media is mostly silent these days, those still located in eastern Ukraine continue to suffer. But God’s people are persevering in delivering the Good News and emergency humanitarian aid. Here is a recent report from an SGA-supported pastor serving with his congregation. Please keep them and all Ukrainians in your prayers . . .

“My team and I went to a village which is located in the war zone. This village is the first after a zone of heavily shelled villages on the way to [a Ukrainian city] There were heavy artillery incursions the day before as well. The complexity and difficulty of these places is that the military restricts the movement of civilians because of the shelling, and I have to fill out a lot of documents to deliver help there. But we know how.

We brought 250 food kits, 200 first aid kits, 500 loaves of bread, and 200 hygiene kits. As we always do in the beginning, there was a sermon and a prayer for an end to the war and that our salvation is only in Jesus Christ. Now people are responding very strongly to the sermon and spiritual things, as they understand that the danger is very close, there are always wounded and killed from their village or from the villages nearby.

Many people came because there are over 1,500 households in the village, so we -together with the chairman and church leaders- have chosen those who are most in need. People are very grateful for our ministry and the real help they are in need of, the greatest need they talk about is what if the war is not over when cold weather comes, and there is no money and nothing to heat homes.”
