Editor’s Note: The following report, testimony, and images were provided by an SGA-supported pastor in Ukraine.

SGA-supported Pastor Borys’ ministry report below is a reminder of what Christian witness should be. The Gospel is underscored when the evidence is displayed in the goodness and kindness of believers.

Join with churches like that of Borys in Ukraine in praying that the Gospel will also take root in the lives of those who hear of the grace of God in Jesus, and experience His loving-kindness through a local church. Read more from Borys and see God at work . . .

Dear friends, peace be with you!

I thank the Lord for blessing my ministry. I have been serving in this village for almost five years. Today, there are 19 members in the church. Four unbelievers come to our services regularly, and we are grateful to the Lord for them. Last year we held ministries for unbelievers on our own. Two people were baptized last summer. The Lord cares about such souls.

Thank you that through your ministry with food aid, we can open the Word of God and bring it to all those who are not saved yet. We also carry out ministry in a neighboring village. The leadership of the village allowed us to meet in the house of culture (the center of the village) and hold our services there. It is a miracle that we have this opportunity, so we serve the Lord, serve people and little children. God’s blessings to you for the coming year!

Christians Do Good Work Story 1

Testimony:

“My name is Masha (Maria). We are IDPs [internally displaced persons] from Sloviansk. I have been affected by the war. I was seriously wounded. Together with my aunt and neighbors (a disabled man and his wife, both of retirement age) we came to [this region] because our house was located near the area of hostilities (Sloviansk, Donetsk region). Christians have been visiting us for more than a year, helping us, supporting us, bringing us food and items we need.

“We are very thankful to all the kind people from abroad who continue to send food in these difficult times for our country. May God cover all of you with His mercy and give you good health so that you do not get tired and continue to help our people. Christians do good work, and people see it and thank God for such Christians here.”

In a time of great uncertainty, God is bringing help, healing, and hope to the people of Ukraine through SGA-supported pastors, churches, a seminary and SGA-supported Compassion Ministry. Be a part of God’s incredible work with your generosity and prayer support.

Your gift of compassion helps struggling people with emergency aid that generally includes Scripture materials, food, and hygiene supplies.
