War in Ukraine has radically changed the lives of many people. In the wake of such violence, what follows is suffering, death, and displacement. Yet a new opportunity has arisen for SGA-supported Christians there. Pastors and churches now have the incredible opportunity to share the Gospel with hundreds, if not thousands, of refugees pouring into new places. Those who are suffering need their physical and spiritual needs ministered to now more than ever in the name of Jesus.
Thanks to support from friends like you, an SGA-supported leader continues to meet that call. Pastor Oleg and his church are helping as many people as they can, impacting countless lives for the Gospel. Every day, as refugees continually pour into his city, he and his church strive to minister to those who are suffering and in great need.
The three testimonies below demonstrate the impact Oleg is making in his community. What a blessing to know that such an impact is possible because of your support. As you hear their stories, please remember that the need for humanitarian aid continues. Each gift you provide helps Oleg and his church reach more people with a bag of food and the message of hope found in Jesus Christ.
“When the war started, my daughter, son, and I decided to evacuate. Our home is completely ruined, and we are not planning to go back. We live with other refugees in a sanatorium. We are so grateful to Pastor Oleg for the constant support for our group with food, medication, and clothing. God cares about us, and we also thank those who help Him.”’ –Anastasia, refugee
“We come from Ukraine. When the war reached our city, we hastily grabbed our possessions and together with others we fled from shootings. The situation was very dangerous, and we ended up with a big group of refugees in our region. We have to look for jobs because we have a big need for medication, clothing, and footwear, and all the living essentials. We listen to sermons by Pastor Oleg and pray together with him. He helps our group as much as he is able to.” -Natalia, refugee
“My husband remained behind in our home, and the rest of us had to flee from the war zone. At the center for refugees, they fed us three times a day, but, apart from that, they provided us with nothing else. We thank Pastor Oleg for the help with medications, fruit, and all the essentials we need. We received warm clothes when we first came. We have no clothes for the summer. We also need footwear, medications, and vitamins. We are thankful for all who help Pastor Oleg. He does his best to help us with the things we need. We trust that God helps us through other people like him, and we are very thankful to all who help us.” -Anna, refugee
