In the story below you will see how God enabled a young man to grow in both of his passions at the same time. As a teenager, Vasile heard about God for the first time. He grew in the Lord by attending church, entrusting his life to Christ, and was baptized at the age of 18. 

From there, God directed his path to be able to play his much-loved football (soccer) and to study God’s Word at an international mission school. Now, God is using Vasile’s gifts to mentor many young children, as he teaches discipline and obedience to the Word of God, through the discipline and obedience that it takes to become a good football player.

We each our childhood fondly, and time spent with family and church. This is also the life story of Vasile,from Strașeni. In 2015, when he was 13 years old, Vasile was invited by a friend to the “Good News Kids Club.” There heheard about God for the first time. He later started attending church. When he grew older, he was a regular at the Youth Club. Together with the church, he attended various seminars where he came to know the Lord more. Later in 2020 Vasile decided to entrust his life into God’s hands. At the age of 18 he received baptism.

Vasile is passionate about football, and as a child he used to play on the team with the other children. One day he found out from his mentors (brother Adrian and sister Violeta) that there was an International Mission School where there was also a Football Faculty.

Vasile relates: “I really wanted to go to that school,I just couldn’t pay financially to attend. But what to man is impossible, with God is possible. So through His mercy and the kindness of the people, I covered the expenses for learning. I attended this school for three years, and in 2023 I graduated from “International School of Mission, Faculty of Football.”

Vasile has been doing football training and Bible study for two years in the Strășeni district. He teaches children: discipline and obedience to the Word of God. Together with the groups he leads, they participate in football tournaments and usually place at the top. Also, this year the Lord has put it on his heart to open a new football group in the village of Greblești, where he will lead children and teenagers to Jesus.
