Editor’s Note: The images below were provided by an SGA-supported church in Ukraine.

Here is a report from a region in Ukraine that was ground zero for the initial invasion by Russia, and they continue to suffer even now.  There in that very city, Slavic, an SGA-supported missionary pastor, was handing out aid and preaching the Gospel.  Now from the ashes of destruction has come a church that is growing and reaching.

Below is testimony that Slavic sent to encourage our hearts. And be encouraged!  God clearly continues to be building His church, to advance hope, when humanity is at its worst.  God be praised for His glorious grace and love in Christ Jesus, and His blessed, guiding hand.

Dear brothers and sisters,

Thank you for your prayers for Ukraine!

It’s been a year and a half of our ministry in this area. Today we have two locations: one in the city center—about 80 people come to Sunday services, more than 75% of who are unchurched, and the second one is in the military town, with about 20 people in attendance on Sundays, almost all are unchurched. We are glad that most of them attend small groups—currently there are eight groups and two Bible classes.

This year, more and more people joined the Sunday worship. It is wonderful to see God touching and transforming lives. That’s why we started praying for a better place to meet/gather.

And God took care of us, we received a room in the city center. At the moment, we have partially renovated it—it already serves us well and can accommodate about 140 people. Here we can continue: Bible study, women’s meetings, creative, and English classes for preschoolers, youth meetings, Awana children’s club, small groups, Sunday gatherings, and other events.

So recently we held a Thanksgiving Day. Despite the war and all the difficult circumstances, we see that there are many reasons to be grateful to the Lord, especially for those saved in Christ. We are glad that on the celebration day, both halls were full

Two sports clubsvolleyball and ultimate frisbee—have become special in the youth ministry. OurChurch Youth Frisbee Team -Hostomel Ultimate – took part in a BeachUltimate Frisbee Championshipin Kyiv.Despite the team taking last place, they were awarded for the bestbehavior on the field. At each training with our youth, we come together in a huddle, read the Bible, and build very sincere, open relationships with them.

Please pray for the development of our ministry here, especially for open hearts of people, for their acceptance of Christ and for the readiness to be baptized by those who have already become God’s children.
