In just a few short weeks, churches across Russia and her neighboring countries will be carrying out their long-planned Immanuel’s Child Christmas outreaches to children from needy families in their regions. God blessed me to be part of developing this wonderful ministry at the outset. So like every year, I can’t wait to see what the Lord does this year!
While we aren’t sure yet just what form these outreaches will take given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there is one thing that we are sure of: The churches that SGA has the privilege of serving show remarkable ingenuity and the ability to adapt their plans to whatever situation confronts them. And God will use them to reach children and families!
We saw this over the summer with SGA-sponsored camp ministries. The churches made sure to adopt strict protocols in areas where they could meet and gather children for camp. Some churches worked out arrangements to have activities virtually using online technology. Others made home visits and had events in backyards, and on church grounds. And God still moved in many young lives as they heard the Gospel! It will be no different with Immanuel’s Child at Christmas.
God is not limited by anything that happens in this world! Your prayers and support—as always—will be used by Him to make an eternal difference for these precious boys and girls.
And speaking of prayers, let me take this opportunity to ask you to do just that in advance of these outreaches. Please pray with us for God to make it possible to reach even more children than last year. Pray for even more open doors and creative ways to distribute gifts and Immanuel’s Child Star of Bethlehem ornaments to the children and their families. Above all, pray for open hearts and ears to hear and believe the Gospel, and that many boys and girls will come to Christ in saving faith. Thank you in advance!
For our Savior,
Pastor Oleg's church reached more than 250 people through SGA-supported Compassion Ministry, and some have started attending church services!
God opened a door for Mikhail and his team to hold a children’s summer program in a remote village that was only accessible by aircraft.
