When does simple, portable cast iron stove become more than a stove? When it is placed in the hands of someone in need in Ukraine. This winter, we have received many messages of thanks from SGA-supported pastors like Volodymyr and from suffering people in their communities who have received stoves through SGA’s Ukraine Heat and Hope Campaign.
The generous gifts of friends like you have made it possible to purchase these stoves in Ukraine and deliver them to as many regions as possible. Since more than 50% of Ukraine’s electrical infrastructure has been damaged in the war, people are struggling to survive without power — sometimes up to 12 hours a day!
But the gift of each stove, a “magic stove” as Volodymyr says, can greatly bless not just one individual but entire communities. See for yourself in Volodymyr’s video below as he explains how a stove is equipping his congregation to cook many meals for people in need.
Volodymyr:
I have received a very valuable donation from SGA partners, it’s a “magic stove.” Blessed is that person who made this stove! This stove is very economical and efficient. Every Saturday we use it to cook lunches for many people. We cut these sausages into about 840 slices to make 140 sandwiches for hungry people (on video). Also, after the Sunday morning services, we cook hot lunches for the needy people.
We thank God for giving you such a good idea to provide missionaries with such wonderful stoves! I always want to call it “burning bush.” I thank the Lord for your dedication, for your care, for your help, that in these difficult times for Ukraine. You are constantly supporting us as much as you can and in so many ways!
In a time of great uncertainty, God is bringing help, healing, and hope to the people of Ukraine through SGA-supported pastors, churches, a seminary, and SGA-sponsored Compassion Ministry. Be a part of God’s incredible work with your generosity and prayer support.
Your gift of compassion helps struggling people with emergency aid that generally includes Scripture materials, food, medicine, warm clothing, and shoes.
