Editor’s Note: The images below were provided by an SGA-supported pastor and his congregation who prayerfully decided to remain in Ukraine during the ongoing war.
Pastor Oleg shares that almost the entire congregation of his SGA-supported church in Ukraine decided not to evacuateand to stay and serve the people in the midst of war. Since the beginning of the invasion, this body of believers has studied Psalms together and prayed asking God how He would use them in their community. They have focused on distributing food and minister to the remaining people in their city — one that has been a primary target of attacks. The church has used funds to buy groceries and invites people from the streets to receive food packages and aid.On the third day of handing out bread and other food items, the church served 600 people. Most importantly, the pastor shares: “We preach the Gospel every morning before the food distribution. Hundreds of people turn to Christ! Most recently on one given day, these Christian brothers and sisters helped 2,000 people! The church has involved unbelievers in helping with transportation. They use 12 cars every day to deliver aid, as well as buy medicine from pharmacies.
In a time of great fear and uncertainty, God is bringing help, healing, and hope to the people of Ukraine through SGA-supported pastors, churches, a seminary, and SGA-sponsored Compassion Ministry. Be a part of God’s incredible work with your generosity and prayer support.
Your gift of compassion helps struggling people with emergency aid that generally includes food, medicine, warm clothing, shoes, and Scripture materials.
