The story below speaks of God’s greatness and how He has brought together an assortment of people to form a church. Some know Him well, and others who are growing in their knowledge of Him. Together, they are worshiping, praying, gathering in fellowship, learning, and growing. They are building a community of believers who will be yet another “light of hope” in a place of darkness.
Please pray for SGA Storyteller Angela and her husband Val, an SGA-supported missionary pastor who leads this volunteer center turned church. We continue to be encouraged by how many husbands and wives have sacrificed much in order to faithfully serve side by side for the sake of the Gospel. Angela shares . . .
From a volunteer center to a church.
People who come to our volunteer center somehow stopped calling it that, and instead, started calling it a church. And it really is because here, those who love the Lord and those who are on the path of getting to know Christ gather together for Sunday services, youth clubs, women’s meetings, and Bible studies.
There is an English club for those who want to practice English, a theater club of local teenagers who perform Bible stories for evangelism, a “Basics of Electronics class” for boys and girls, and a new art space for young local women.
As leaders, we try to use the holidays as an opportunity to help the wives of “men killed in the war . . . and other families in the region. With the Lord’s help, we do what we can, for the glory of God, so that more and more people hear about Christ and find in Him a true source of hope!
In a time of great uncertainty, God is bringing help, healing, and hope to the people of Ukraine through SGA-supported pastors, churches, a seminary and SGA-supported Compassion Ministry. Be a part of God’s incredible work with your generosity and prayer support.
Your gift of compassion helps struggling people with emergency aid that generally includes Scripture materials, food, and hygiene supplies.
