Editor’s Note: The report, images, and testimony below were provided by an SGA-supported pastor in Ukraine.

Please read the following report from SGA-supported Pastor Andrew in Ukraine and consider the deep impact of emergency aid distributed by the churches we serve. As God provides through the generosity of friends like you, we equip congregations to provide emergency supplies in a time of war to advance the Gospel to their people . . . including Anna, whose testimony you will read below.

This is our calling, and may God be glorified in Andrew’s church as they proclaim Christ in Word and deed.

Dear friends, greetings in the Name of the Lord!

Since the first days of the war, our community has been actively involved in helping those who fled the hot spots of our country. We outlined how many people we were ready to accept for permanent or temporary residence, and how else we could help people in need. We posted information on social networks that our church has the opportunity to help IDPs [internally displaced persons] with food. People came with whole families or groups of people who had left the cities under fire. Lunches were also organized for these people, so that everyone who needed it could have lunch. Also, some of these people asked for their relatives or neighbors who remained in the area where there were no medicines in pharmacies. We bought the necessary medications and sent them to the place of residence of those people. Many people have returned after the liberation of the city, but a large number of people still stay in our city.

We are grateful to you that we can continue to help people with food parcels. We hold meetings of fellow countrymen with them, they all communicate well with each other, we have a time for dinner together, discussing various topics, obligatory prayer and reading the Word of God. There are people that have repented of their sins before the Lord. In the near future we plan to start a new group for studying the Bible with them.

We are sincerely grateful for your participation in this work, in this difficult ministry. We will continue to be grateful for any help you can provide, dear friends of SGA.

God’s blessings to you!
Andrew, pastor of the church

This Is Our Calling Testimony 1

Testimony of Anna

My name is Anna. We fled as a family from Nova Kakhovka, Luhansk region (where the dam on the Dnieper River was blown up). We have been living here for 1 1/2 years. We thank the church, we thank Pastor Andrew, we thank the wonderful mission that takes such good care of our lives and provides great help to us as displaced persons. It’s so wonderful to be in church and to have such wonderful people who have become our friends. My father repented in this church and was baptized. He is very happy to be a part of this church now, and we are happy for him too. We believe that God is working with our hearts and soon we will join the church too. I really want to and I pray for it and we will glorify God together as a family!

People do not need to be afraid to come to church, because here we find only peace, comfort and joy from the presence of God!  We thank you for all the help that you constantly give us, because it is because of such help, the experiences and compassion of sponsors, sacrificial people, that God brought our family to this House of Prayer! We are extremely grateful for the wonderful time we have in the community of God’s children, for the caring for our children, for the Sunday school for them.

May the Lord bless you all abundantly!
