The hardship in Ukraine is beyond imagination, and the suffering is even greater. Yet in the midst of the devastation of war, the church stands and the Gospel is going forth!
Brave believers like SGA-supported Pastor Vlad and his church have a heart for our Lord and continue to press on, as they are undergirded by the prayers and generosity of believers like you.
Here are notes from Pastor Vlad’s recent travels as he ministers with his church to people in two Ukrainian cities. They are struggling to survive . . .
Almost a sleepless night, until half past three in the morning, heavy artillery constantly works around the city and its environs, several hits on residential buildings, people are in fear, many left, but still the city is not empty, life in the city continues . . .
They handed over to help people today food, things, medicines, accumulators, batteries, flashlights, telephones . . . Fortunately, the local church “Awakening” is working, serving people and visited many houses together today.
[In another village] . . . we started our ministry in this village in 2016, but today the village is destroyed. The club building, where the meeting was held, has been destroyed. The roof has been torn down, many houses have been razed to the ground, and there are still about a dozen people there. They spend more time in basements, like then they survive. It is almost impossible to get to [another city]. The road is under fire, littered with fragments.
Let’s have a little rest and continue on our way . . . to do good . . . not to lose heart . . . to preach the Gospel in word and deed!
In prayer and struggle for Ukraine,
Pastor Vlad
